Denvil Jefferson Workman was born at home on January 19, 1922, in Henry District, Clay County, WV. He was the first of seven children of Walter and Bertha Workman. Denvil died March 20, 1974.

Catherine Alberta Kiser was born at home on November 12, 1924, in Uniontown, OH. She was the second of five children of Cecil and Laura Kiser. Kate died July 19, 2021.

Denvil and Kate were married June 8, 1945, at the home of Georgia Lee in Bentree, WV. They had four children.
